Uintah Basin Receives Scholarship Donation

Jul 1, 2008

The Uintah Basin Regional Campus received a $10,000 donation from Uintah Basin Medical Center’s Pink Ladies. The Uintah Basin Medical Center Pink Ladies Scholarship is made available for students attending Utah State University Uintah Basin through donations made by Uintah Basin Medical Center volunteers. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to ten students with at least a 3.0 grade point average for the 2008-09 academic year. Preference will be given, but not limited to, residence of Duchesne County who are studying nursing or another medical-related field.

“This donation is a good indicator of the community support the regional campus receives,” said Karen Woolstenhulme, scholarship director for the Uintah Basin Regional Campus. “Hopefully other organizations will take notice and also actively be involved in supporting educational opportunities to area residents.”

The Pink Ladies Association has committed to providing this scholarship for the next three years, at which time the agreement will be revisited. The scholarship will be available to students beginning Fall 2008 semester.
