Natural Resources, MNR
The MNR draws upon a long and distinguished history of natural resources education at Utah State University, dating back to 1891.It provides high-quality programs in traditional disciplines, but also continues to expand to address emerging issues.
The MNR degree focuses on core areas important for natural resources professionals. Input from state and federal agencies and other natural resource professionals has helped us develop a degree program that prepares students for the challenges of the future.

Courses are delivered via state of the art video conferencing technology. Students meet at a designated time and location.
Admissions
Students must apply for admission into the School of Graduate Studies through the standard application process. Application materials can be found at www.usu.edu/graduateschool/apply. Requirements for admission include:
- Bachelor’s degree in natural resources or related field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Sufficient GRE or MAT score
- Three letters of recommendation
- Completed application form and application fee
- Official transcript of all college credit
Requirements
The MNR degree program consists of 33 total semester credits. Students may chose from a set of courses that meet core requirements in ecological foundations, human dimensions, policy and economics, quantitative methods, information management, and administration and leadership.
The degree also provides the flexibility for electives that allow students to focus on their areas of interest. Each student also completes an integrative capstone experience tailored to meet individual needs.
Students work with a degree coordinator and a graduate committee to identify a program of study that best meets the needs of each student.

The Master of Natural Resources (MNR) is a professional degree that prepares students to work in the interdisciplinary context of the 21st century. This non-thesis degree is offered by the College of Natural Resources, rather than by any of the individual departments in the college.
The degree does not require a research project or thesis, but rather emphasizes high-quality coursework and an integrative capstone experience.
