
Administrative / Supervisory Certificate
The Utah State University Administrative/Supervisory Certificate program prepares educators for administrative licensure by the Utah State Office of Education (USOE). The program is offered by the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education & Human Services, and is based on the certification standards of the USOE, Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), and the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC). It is designed to prepare school personnel for both administrative and supervisory assignments in Utah schools by providing a knowledge base in three areas: Instructional Leadership, Special Education, and Internship Experiences.
Availability
This program is available at the Uintah Basin Campus via the following Instruction Type(s):
Courses are delivered via state of the art video conferencing technology. Students meet at a designated time and location.
Admissions
Candidates seeking licensure only must complete the following application checklist.
- ASC application form (available online at www.cehs.usu.edu/asc)
- $50 non-refundable application fee
- Wallet-size photo of yourself
- Official graduate transcripts
- Photocopy of current teaching license (two years certified experience required)
- Two Letters of recommendation (required form available online at www.cehs.usu.edu/asc)
- USU (Re)Admissions application (through the undergraduate admissions office at www.usu.edu/admissions. Do not apply through the graduate school.)
Candidates seeking a master’s degree with emphasis and licensure must be admitted to the USU School of Graduate Studies and complete the first 5 items above.

Requirements
This program is designed for students with a master’s degree from an accredited institution in education. For those without a master’s degree, consider completing USU’s graduate program in Elementary Education or Secondary Education, with an Administrative & Leadership emphasis, which includes licensure.
Internships in the program involve the application of knowledge and skills learned. Internships require 450 hours of supervised clinical experience, typically divided equally between elementary and secondary settings.
The portfolio requirement is designed so that students create an organized view of themselves and their professional capabilities. While the requirement is to be completed during the last semester of the program, students are strongly encouraged to collect and organize material as they proceed through the program.
