Requirements

Plan B requires students to develop a master’s project related to the selected area of concentration and is designed to achieve professional goals.

Plan C consists of additional coursework in the area of concentration. At the conclusion of the program, a culminating experience is developed by the advisor to meet the needs of the student.

Each student will be assigned an advisor after admission to his/her respective program. Together a course of study will be outlined, including an area of concentration.

To allow Secondary Education faculty to develop a close working relationship with each MEd student, the department has a 12-credit (Logan) residency requirement. Students can meet this requirement by taking the department’s “short courses” during the summer months or by completing 12 credits of coursework from Secondary Education faculty members. Many graduate courses are offered during an extensive summer program in Logan, with courses organized into two-week blocks.
