Communicative Disorders & Deaf Education, BS

Nationally there is a critical need for professionals in the field of Communicative Disorders. A bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders is needed in most cases for a person to work as a Speech-Language Technician or for  admission into a graduate program.

To meet this need, the Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education Department at Utah State University offers two different online bachelor’s degree programs, one for a first bachelor’s degree and one for a second bachelor’s degree.

Availability

This program is available at the Uintah Basin Campus via the following Instruction Type(s):

Online

Courses are delivered online to students all around the globe using Blackboard Vista. Students may participate any time and anywhere they have an Internet connection.

Admissions

Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree must be admitted to Utah State University. To apply, visit www.usu.edu/admissions/applyonline. Students working toward a second bachelor’s degree should indicate that on the applicaiton.

This program is also open to individuals who wish to take one or more courses for enrichment, without pursuing a degree. To register for courses in a non-degree track, please visit http://comd.usu.edu/htm/programs/online-programs for further instructions.

Admission deadlines are April 1 for summer and fall semesters, and November 1 for spring semester.

Requirements

The first bachelor’s degree program requires 120 credits and includes courses in general education, depth education, Communicative Disorders, and courses related to Communicative Disorders. This program typically takes four years to complete.
